Job applicants often know what job they want but struggle to communicate their strengths, prepare effectively for selection processes, or understand how their behavioural profile aligns with different career paths. Our aim was to provide career coaching sessions that combined personality and emotional intelligence profiling with practical learning and development strategies to improve career readiness and employment outcomes.

Across 383 individual and group coaching sessions, we supported clients through every stage of the recruitment journey. Using personality and emotional intelligence assessments alongside behavioural coaching, we helped clients understand their strengths, align career goals with suitable opportunities, prepare for interviews and assessment centres, strengthen workplace competencies, and develop personalised strategies for successful job applications.

Every client brought different career goals, levels of experience, and development needs. The challenge was creating a personalised coaching process that balanced psychological insight with practical job-search support, ensuring each client understood both their behavioural profile and the expectations of the roles they were pursuing. The coaching also needed to prepare clients for increasingly complex recruitment methods, including competency-based interviews, assessment centres, behavioural exercises, and group selection activities.

  1. Create tools to identify each client's behavioural profile and career strengths.
  2. Align individual capabilities, interests, and personality with suitable career pathways.
  3. Develop personalised coaching plans based on career goals and development needs.
  4. Prepare clients for skill-based interviews, assessments, and recruitment exercises.
  5. Strengthen competencies like communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.
  6. Provide feedback on CVs, applications, interview performance, and career strategy.
  7. Design practical coaching exercises, role-play scenarios, and development activities.

We began each session by building a detailed understanding of the client's goals, experience, and behavioural profile. Bespoke personality and emotional intelligence assessment tools were used alongside structured conversations to identify strengths, work attitudes, blind spots, development areas, preferred working styles, and career aspirations.

We then converted these insights into a personalised career strategy, helping clients evaluate how their current personality profile aligned with different roles and organisational cultures. Together, we reviewed job requirements, identified capability gaps, established development priorities, and created practical action plans tailored to their career objectives.

Discussions focused on developing the behavioural skills most frequently assessed during recruitment, including communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, assertiveness, workplace reliability, and professional presentation. Clients completed practical exercises, behavioural role-play scenarios, and structured homework designed to strengthen confidence while applying these skills in realistic workplace situations.

We prepared clients for every stage of the recruitment process through CV and application reviews, interview coaching, mock interviews, and assessment centre preparation.
